@LarsRosager @lautdavila2112 The shlokas rendered at the beginning are from the Samskruta treatise: Arya-Sapta-Shati by Sri Govindacharya; the one rendered first is in praise of Shri Ganesha: mangala kalasha dvayam aya kumbham adambhena bhajata gajavadanam | yad-dana toya taralai-s-tilatulana lamba rolambaihi|| 28 || meaning of the first verse: we humbly offer sacred water in two pitchers in obeisance/reverential worship to Shri Ganesha, the auspicious One (every auspicious beginning happens with a prayer such as this - known as a mangalacharanam - to Shri Ganesha); the next verse states that honey bees, attracted to the fragrance of the (implied meaning: thus sanctified, sweetened) water are in a state of extreme excitement and are buzzing in a state of frenzy, giving the appearance of sesame seeds (i.e. the bees are being described as such). The second shloka describes the wedding of Shiva and Parvati, or rather the context leading up to it: Kamadeva ignites passion for Parvati, in Shiva, the Supreme Yogi, who, enraged (because His state of meditation is disturbed), reduces Kamadeva to ashes; however, a drop of sweat from Parvati's brow falls on Kamadeva's ashes, causing Kamadeva to be reborn ... I was fortunate enough to interact very closely with Panditji for the last ten years of his life. I am a complete novice when it comes to understand and appreciation the technical complexity of his music. But he had such an astute sense of aesthetics in general. I was lucky enough to have edited a film on him made by Lalit Kala Kendra Pune, during which I spent hundreds of hours with him talking about all his experiences right from childhood. Listening to him speak about his musical journey was magic. Do you have more recordings of panditji with you?
